About Us

Realizing the importance of services rendered by nurses to health care delivery systems and the need for well trained nursing professionals VIJAYA HEALTH CARE ACADEMIC SOCIETY was established in 2001 under the umbrella of Vijaya Health Care and Sathya Sadhana Foundation. Also the fact that such a course would be instrumental in helping students from weaker sections to realize their dreams of a better tomorrow with dignity was instrumental in establishing the Academic Society. Thus the school of Nursing was established in the year 2001 to promote nursing education and to promote research in the field of nursing.

The institution was initially offering Diploma in Nursing with an intake of 45 students per batch. But as years rolled on, its rays had spread to other latitudes in nursing education such as BSc. (Nursing) with an intake of 50 students in the year 2006 , pc B.Sc (N) with an intake of 30 students in the year 2010. The college is affiliated to Dr. N.T.R University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and by the Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council. The college believes in preparing nurses from all states of India and abroad to meet the great challenges of service in the field of nursing.

OBJECTIVES
On completion of nursing studies the nurses are expected to:
  • develop technical competence and skills for participation as members of health team to preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care services to the society.

  • develop proficiency in application of nursing principles and practices based on scientific knowledge which will enable the nurses to promote the health status of the client and the community.

  • improve knowledge and skills to understand the influence of family and the society economic conditions that effect patient and his/her progress.

  • develop analytical thinking and creativity which will geode and assist to further the frontiers of knowledge.

  • develop independence in critical and analytical judgement and decision making ability.

  • practice self discipline in promoting personal and professional profile and further professional career.

  • develop a sense of commitment into nursing professional to work for the welfare of the society.

  • gain insight in demonstrating skills in interpersonal relations and communications.

  • practice ethical values in personal and professional life.

  • recognize the significance and critical role of nurses in the professional organization.
